KSRTC to operate 2,500 additional buses during Deepavali

Bengaluru, Oct. 15 (KMS&DM)- With the three-day Deepavali festival (Oct. 20 to 22) coming just after this weekend, the KSRTC will be operating 2,500 additional buses from Bengaluru to different destinations across the State and also to neighbouring States. These additional trips will be in operation from Oct. 17 to 20 and with the Deepavali festival coming soon after the coming Sunday, it will be an extended weekend for many public, private sector, IT-BT and other employees.

Anticipating heavy rush of passengers who want to leave for their native places from Bengaluru taking advantage of the extended holidays, the KSRTC will operate special buses to different destinations both within and outside the State for meeting the rush.

This apart, the KSRTC will also be operating additional buses under all categories (Karnataka Sarige, Rajahamsa, Airavatha, Sleeper Coach, EV buses) from Oct. 22 to 26. These buses will operate from Majestic, Shanthinagar, Peenya and Satellite Bus Stand on Mysuru Road to different destinations. The special buses will depart from Majestic Bus Stand to long destinations such as Dharmasthala, Sringeri, Horanadu, Mangaluru, Chikkamagalur, Shivamogga, Gokarna, Karwar, Hubballi, Belagavi, Dharwad, Vijayapura, Kalaburagi etc. and outside-State destinations such as Tirupati, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Ongole, Kurnool and Nellore.

The special buses to different destinations in Tamil Nadu and some destinations in Kerala will leave from Shanthinagar Bus Stand and buses to destinations such as Mysuru and beyond will leave from Satellite Bus Stand on Mysuru Road.

Before boarding the buses, passengers are asked to note the name of the bus stand and pick-up point mentioned in their reservation tickets.

KSRTC has announced a five percent rebate on group booking (4-5 passengers together) and 10 percent rebate for to and fro bookings. Passengers can reserve their seats by logging on to www.ksrtc.Karnataka.gov.in well in advance.
