KSRTC’s new ‘AWATAR’

September 18, 2026

Booking and cancellation of tickets now just a scan away

Mysuru: Upgrading its passenger-friendly approach, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has launched Advanced Web and Android Ticketing and Reservation (AWATAR) 2.0, which enables passengers to reserve or cancel tickets with a single scan of the QR code.

KSRTC has provided QR Codes on its buses to help passengers to book tickets at their convenience. Under the WhatsApp ticketing facility, passengers can also book tickets for KSRTC, NWKRTC (North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation) and KKRTC (Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation) services.

The upgraded AWATAR App and WhatsApp ticketing services were launched by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar during the Government’s 100-day celebrations at the Banquet Hall of Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru recently.

Through AWATAR and the WhatsApp ticketing service, passengers can book their tickets 30 days in advance, after which the e-tickets will be sent to the registered mobile numbers and e-mail.

Passengers can book tickets through UPI, credit cards, debit cards or KSRTC wallet.

For booking tickets, passengers will have to send a ‘Hi’ message to +91 63649-40880 and the interactive pages will guide the passengers for booking or cancellation of the tickets.

Complaint service

KSRTC has also provided a complaint facility in the App for passengers to register their complaints and also track the status. Passengers can also escalate their complaints to higher officials if their complaints are not resolved at the primary stage.

Going forward, KSRTC also plans to introduce digital monthly passes in the future for the benefit of the passengers.
