T.Narasipur: A team of officials led by Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G. Sankar and Superintendent of Police Amit Singh inspected Triveni Sangam and its surroundings recently to collect information and ensure the success of the three-day Kumbha Mela celebrations scheduled from Feb. 17 to 19 in the town.
They visited Biksheswara Temple, Mulasthaneshwara, Agastheshwara Gunjanarasimhaswamy Temple and other places. They also collected information from officials to set up temporary toilet, drinking water facilities, parking lot, bathing, safety issues and other facilities.
Meanwhile, various elected representatives who were waiting for Deputy Commissioner and other officials to discuss the preparations for Kumbha Mela celebrations at Adichunchanagiri Samudaya Bhavan expressed their displeasure on Abhiram. G. Sankar and Superintendent of Police for not seeking their suggestions.
Tahasildar Nagaprashanth, Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Dr. Nanjesh,Town Municipal Council Chief Administrative Officer Ashok, Circle Inspector M.R. Lava, PSI Azharuddin and other taluk-level officials were present during the visit.
