Kurubarahalli Survey No. 4 and Alanahalli Survey No. 41: Government panel to submit final report in a week

DC D. Randeep who chaired a review meeting of District Mineral Foundation today.

Mysuru:The Government-constituted eight-member Committee to look into the writ petitions on Kurubarahalli Survey No. 4 and Alanahalli Survey No. 41 and also to look into the exclusion of the layouts coming under the said survey numbers from “B Kharab” (government land) classification will submit its final report to the government in a week.

The Committee is headed by Mysuru Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep and it has already conducted several meetings to resolve the issue.

Documents have been procured from MUDA and other offices regarding the land at Alanahalli, K.C. Nagar and Income Tax Layouts that have been formed years ago from the land sanctioned by City Improvement Trust Board (CITB, now MUDA).

Speaking to Star of Mysore, Randeep said that the Committee has gathered information on the layouts and also about the 72 writ petitions that have been filed in the Karnataka High Court. “The Committee has come to a conclusion and due to Dasara festivities, the final report could not be sent to the government. We will submit the report in a week,” he said.

It may be recalled here that on May 26, 2015, the then Mysuru DC had declared Kurubarahalli Survey No. 4 and Alanahalli Survey No. 41 as “B Kharab.”

In all, 710.17 acres out of the 1,543 acres that has been declared as “B Kharab” in Kurubarahalli Survey No. 4, and 74 acres out of 175 acres of Alanahalli Survey No. 41 have been taken over by MUDA 70 years back to form layouts and to  distribute sites.

The lands had been purchased by over 25,000 people from MUDA in 1970s. However, they are yet to get land records, in spite of them being legal owners of the land. Hence, everything has come to a  standstill as they are neither able to sell their houses nor build extra floors for the past three years. A few residents and owners of lands had approached  the Court for relief.
