Mysuru: A two-day State-level inter-college cultural festival organised by Vishwamanava Vidyarthi-Yuva Vedike was held on Wednesday at Kalamandira here.
Inaugurating the programme, MLA Vasu regretted that casteism had entered every sector and appreciated the youth for converging in large numbers for a cultural meet.
On the occasion, Vasu presented ‘Kuvempu Aniketana’ Award to Prof. C. Naganna, Retired Director of Prasaranga, University of Mysore. The MLA announced a personal cash prize of Rs. 50,000 to the first prize-winning individual or team. Prof. Nilagiri M. Talwar of Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies, former ZP President K.C. Balaram, Vedike President M.J. Suresh Gowda, Journalist Sadashiva Hulgur, Yuva Vedike State President Mohit Gowda, Secretary Rakesh Gowda and others were present on the occasion.
