Labour Department instructs for direct credit of relief

Mysore/Mysuru: With the Government announcing a one-time relief of Rs.3,000 to each Labourer in the wake of COVID crisis, the Labour Department has directed the Labour Welfare Board to credit a total of Rs.749.55 crore to the respective bank accounts of 24,98,521 registered construction workers of the State.

The Labour Department Under-Secretary B.S. Pradeep Kumar said that following administrative approval for credit of relief money which was announced by the Chief Minister on May 19, the Labour Welfare Board has been directed to credit the money to only those beneficiaries who are registered with the Board.
