Lalithadrinagar: Site application form distribution picking up

Mysuru: It is almost a week and nearly 18,700 applications have been sold at the eight branches of the Vijaya Bank to the Lalithadrinagar site aspirants since the distribution of applications began on Aug. 1. Out of this, the number of applications in the general category sold is 10,700 and in the reserved category 8,000 applications.

Meanwhile, the sale of application forms is going on. The last date for distribution of application forms is Aug. 16 and to submit it with the earnest money deposit and the registration fees is Aug. 26. As the last date approaches there will be a scramble to get the application forms, said an official in the MUDA.

Only three percent of the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) needs to be paid by those belonging to SC/STs, Backward Classes, soldiers who have retired, families of the martyred soldiers and the personnel of Central Armed Forces. Thus, for a 20X30 ft site, the EMD is Rs. 4,650, for 30X40 ft site Rs. 13,020, 40X60 ft Rs. 34,590 and for 50X80 ft site, it is Rs. 65,070. The registration fee is Rs. 100, Rs. 500 and Rs. 2,000.

However, for the General Category, the EMD is Rs. 15,500 for 20X30 ft. site, Rs. 43,4000 for 30X40 ft. site, Rs. 1,15,300 for 40X60 ft. site and Rs. 2,14,900 for 50X80 ft. site. The registration fee remains the same as above. However, only new applicants need to pay the registration and not those who have been attempting to get the sites over a period of time, said a   MUDA official.

R.T. Nagar: Meanwhile, the final approved list of the site aspirants for R.T. Nagar is likely to be announced this evening at the MUDA office. The sub-committee that was formed to finalise the list after hearing the objections had finalised it. The Board gave its approval to the final list on August 5.
