Lansdowne building and test of strength

October 24, 2022

Sir,

Apropos the above photo published on page-4 of Star of Mysore dated 6th October. Of hundreds, if not thousands of people,  on top of the Lansdowne building to witness Dasara procession, was both shocking as well as heartening.

I don’t know how all of them managed to climb up the old building,  but it certainly seems to have passed the test of strength, isn’t it?

Looks like it can be preserved with some strengthening to the structure, as the Royal family members  have time and again opined. Will the local MLA, District Minister and the State Government reconsider their decision to demolish and reconstruct this heritage building?
