Mysore/Mysuru: Departments of Computer Science, BCA and IQAC of SBRR Mahajana First Grade College  had recently organised a National Webinar on ‘LaTex and its Applications.’ 

Dr. V.N. Manjunth Aradhya, Associate Professor, Head, Department of Computer Applications, JSS Science & Technology University, Mysuru, was the resource person.

The resource person gave a brief introduction to typesetting systems, later on he moved on to the brief history of LaTex. He gave a detailed presentation on the tools available in LaTex, its benefits and usage. 

He made a brief comparison between MS Word and LaTex with demonstration, showing how reports could be generated with its features.

He stressed upon its usage in the fields of Mathematics, Engineering and Scientific documentations which is the order of the day.

A total of 400 participants, including students, research scholars and academicians, from India and abroad participated in the Webinar. Dr. B.R. Jayakumari, Principal, SBRR Mahajana FGC, presided over the session. Shruthy Poonacha, HoD, Computer Science and K.S. Manjunath, HoD, BCA and others were present.
