Warns of protest in front of CM’s residence in Bengaluru on Sept. 4 if demand not met by then

Mysore/Mysuru: Seeking clearance of encroached Government lands in Nanjangud taluk that are meant for distribution of sites for the poor, shelterless families will stage a stir in front of the Chief Minister’s residence at Bengaluru on Sept. 4. Announcing this at a press meet here yesterday, former President of  All Karnataka Sugarcane Growers Association Girish Madanahalli alleged that some persons have encroached 1-acre-20-guntas of land at Madanahalli in Hullahalli hobli of Nanjangud taluk, that was meant for distribution of sites to the poor.

Claiming that several representations to the Tahsildar and the Deputy Commissioner seeking clearance of encroached lands has received no response so far, Girish maintained that the officials had bowed to the influence of the rich and powerful.

Stating that the poor are being refrained from building houses out of the Rs.5 lakh funds provided by the Government, he warned of staging a stir along with the family members of the shelterless poor, in front of the Chief Minister’s residence at Bengaluru on Sept. 4 if the district administration fails to take action by then.
