Lauding MCC’s Prajaseva e-Aasthi Campaign

October 30, 2026

Sir,

The Prajaseva e-Aasthi Campaign, held on Oct. 28 under the leadership of Mysuru Division Regional Commissioner and MCC Administrator Nitesh Patil, with the active involvement of MCC Commissioner M.K. Savitha, deserves appreciation for the way it was organised and carried out.

What stood out was the senior officers’ personal involvement: they remained on the spot throughout the campaign, addressed citizens’ queries and grievances and arranged biscuits and drinking water for those waiting in long queues. These gestures demonstrated their concern for the people.

Senior citizens were given priority and allowed to skip the queue, which was a welcome move. Though there were a few minor hiccups initially, the arrangements were soon streamlined. Officials from all nine MCC Zones worked until late evening, uploading documents and helping applicants complete the process.

It was encouraging to see senior officers working alongside their teams to ensure that the service reached people without unnecessary delay. The campaign showed how public services can be made more accessible and efficient when officials take direct responsibility for their implementation.

We appreciate Nitesh Patil, M.K. Savitha and all MCC officials who worked hard to make the initiative a success. I hope other public service initiatives will follow a similar approach.

Sir,

On Wednesday, Oct. 28, I visited the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Office to obtain an e-Aasthi for my sister-in-law’s property under the scheme, ‘Get your e-Aasthi in 72 hours for Rs. 175’. A large number of applicants had gathered there.

I was delighted by the way MCC Administrator Nitesh Patil, Commissioner M.K. Savitha and the staff treated applicants with utmost respect and arranged the process systematically, giving priority according to the seniority of token holders.

This was my first experience of the MCC bringing a public service under e-governance in such a convenient manner. At around 11.30 am, I received an acknowledgement for the property documents submitted.

The officials assured me that the e-khata would be handed over at the MCC premises on Oct. 31, after processing the application. I must applaud the MCC team for its service-oriented approach. I understand that obtaining an e-khata was earlier a laborious process.

I hope other Government Departments will also adopt similar e-governance initiatives to make public services more accessible and convenient. The efforts of the MCC Administrator, Commissioner and their team deserve appreciation and will bring credit to the Government.
