‘Demystifying Spirituality’ by Sri M; Bharatanatyam tribute to Wadiyars of Mysuru
Mysuru: A programme has been organised at Bangalore Palace in Vasanthnagar, Bengaluru, on Feb.19 at 6 pm for the launch of Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar Foundation and anniversary celebrations of Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar Indian Medical Heritage Library, Trans- Disciplinary University (TDU), Bengaluru.
Dr. K. Kasturirangan, Chairman of Karnataka Knowledge Commission and former Chairman of ISRO, will inaugurate the programme. Pramoda Devi Wadiyar will deliver the welcome address.
Prof. Darshan Shankar, Vice-Chancellor, TDU and Prakash Belawadi, Director, Sucharita School of Cinema, will deliver a talk on ‘Contemporary Relevance of Indian Knowledge Heritage.’ Kamakshi Devi, Indrakshi Devi, Vishalakshi Devi and Dr. Rafeeq Ahmed will speak on ‘Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar.’
Prof. Ramaswamy of Institute of Stem Cell Biology, MCBS, Bengaluru, will present a report on the programmes implemented by Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar Indian Medical Heritage Library. Sri M will speak on ‘Demystifying Spirituality.’
The occasion will also feature Bharatanatyam tribute to the Wadiyars of Mysuru by actress and dancer Lakshmi Gopalaswamy and senior artiste Sathyanarayana Raju. This specially choreographed tribute provides a glimpse of the cultural heritage of Mysore through some of its important rulers and their achievements.
Reginald Wesley, Trustee of Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar Foundation, will propose a vote of thanks.
