‘Layalahari’ special instrumental music programme tomorrow

 ‘Layalahari’ special instrumental music (mridanga) programme will be presented by Vid. H.L. Shivashankaraswamy of Layavidya Pratishthana and troupe under the auspices of Srikrishna Trust Chaturmasya Samiti, Mysuru, as part of Pejawar Seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji’s 36th Chaturmasya Vrata at Srikrishnadhama in Saraswathipuram tomorrow (Sept. 14) at 7 pm.

Vid. H.L. Shivashankaraswamy, son of Manjulamma  and Lakshminarayana Sharma, a well-known Keerthanakara and Gamaka Vidwan, is one of the leading mridanga artistes of India. He had his training in mridanga from renowned artiste Vid. B.R. Sridhar of Mysuru. He has accompanied almost all the leading musicians and Vidwans of Karnatak Music like Dr. M. Balamurali Krishna, R.K. Srikantan, Dr. N. Ramani, Lalgudi G. Jayaraman, M.S. Gopalakrishnan, T.V. Shankara Narayanan, Mysore M. Nagaraj, U. Srinivas, Vidyabhushana, Bombay Sisters among others. Presently, Shivashankaraswamy is working as ‘A’ grade staff artiste in All India Radio, Mysuru.
