Lecture-demo tomorrow on ‘Abhinayadarpanam’

The Mysore Literary Association (MLA) has arranged a classical dance lecture-demonstration titled “Abhinayadarpanam – An Ancient Dance Treatise of India” on Feb.10 at 6 pm at the Rotary Mysore West Auditorium, Saraswathipuram. The lecture will be presented by Dr. Rohitha Eswer with demonstration by Vidushi Kausalya Chandra. Dr. Rohitha Eswer started his dance instruction in Bharatanatyam and Kathak fundamentals from his mother and Guru Nandini Eswer at a tender age. He also trained in dance choreography under her tutelage; in Odissi under Guru Nupur Chatterjee and in Tagore’s dance drama and choreography under Guru Valmiki Bannerjee. He also went on to learn Kerala traditional martial art Kalaripayattu, according to a press release from Mysore Literary Association Secretary Reginald Wesley.
