Lecture on ‘Illness to Wellness’ at Elder Citizens Council

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of the monthly lecture series of Elders Citizens Council, Jayalakshmipuram, a lecture titled ‘lllness to Wellness’ by Dr. K.R. Vasanthakumar, Director, Wellness Centre and Aathma  Wellness Foundation, Mysuru, was arranged at Saraswathi Samudaya Hall here recently.  

Dr. Vasanthakumar, who is also a Professor at Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences, has conducted more than 1,000 lec-workshops on ‘Simple tips for healthy living,’ ‘Anaesthesia and spirituality’, ‘Science and technology in Hindu traditions’.

In his lecture, he spoke on various life-style practices and the day-to-day habits including walking, Yoga, Pranayama and dhyana etc., which lead to a healthy living.  Consumption of soya powder and more usage of turmeric to the body both by consumption and application, reduces chances of cancer diseases, he advised. As cow’s milk has rich calcium, more milk to be consumed and green leaves like curry leaves, palak,  give more strength to the body. Using Tulasi leaves in drinking water daily improves stamina, he explained. 

K.V. Ramanath, Committee member, welcomed. Venka-teshaiah, Secretary, proposed a vote of thanks. Gowdappa, Chairman of Building Trust, Suseela Mari Gowda, Vice- President, Venkata Narasimha Achar, Treasurer and Dr. N.K. Ramachandra Gowda were present.
