Mysuru: In order to more effectively carry out its aims and objectives and to sensitise the public and students on law, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) has organised ‘Kaanoonu Saksharata Ratha,’ a legal literacy programme, in several parts of the city from tomorrow (June 28) to July 1.
District Principal and Sessions Judge S.K. Vantigodi, who is also the DLSA Chairman, will inaugurate the programme at the City Law Courts Complex at 10 am tomorrow (June 28).
The other programmes are ‘Kaanoonu Arivu-Neravu’ at MMK&SDM Women’s College in the city at 11 am on June 28 and at 4 pm at Yelwal Gram Panchayat office. On June 29, the programme will take place at Sarada Vilas Law College at 10 am, at Marianiketana High School, Bogadi at 12.30pm and at Ambedkar Samudaya Bhavan, Varuna village at 5 pm.
On June 30, the programme will take place at BCM hostel in Kuvempunagar at 10.30 am and at Girls Hostel, Bogadi at 12.30 pm.
On July 1, the programme will take place at Vidyavardhaka Law College at 10.30 am, at JSS Women’s College, Saraswathipuram at 12.30 pm and at Belawadi GP Office at 5pm.
During the programme, the public will be sensitised on the objectives of DLSA, Fundamental Rights and Duties of citizens, IMV Act, Hindu Inheritance Act, Act on prevention of atrocities against women, POCSO Act, Right to Information Act, Police Complaints Authority, Lok Adalat, Mediation Centre, Permanent Janatha Courts etc.
