Leopard captured at Kalluru Naganahalli

January 30, 2019

Mysuru:  A leopard spotted at Kalluru Naganahalli in Mysuru Taluk and causing anxiety among the villagers, was successfully captured in an operation conducted by the Forest Department officials and staff.

The six to seven-year-old male leopard was spotted by the villagers about four days ago. It had attacked a cow and a goat. Even though the Forest Department officials on receiving the information had placed a cage, the leopard had not fallen into the trap.

Later, on receiving definite information from the villagers that it was found near a water pipe, the forest staff led by Forest Guard Devaraju captured the leopard around 4 pm yesterday.

Devaraju told Star of Mysore that it has been decided to release the leopard into Bandipur Forest.
