Leopard trapped in Hunsur

July 10, 2018

A four-year-old male leopard was trapped by the Forest Department personnel at the farm of one Jaffar Baig at Siddanakoppal in Hunsur last night.

The leopard had killed Jaffar’s dog and had consumed a part of it on Sunday. The Forest Department personnel had placed a cage in the farm and had kept the carcass of the dog inside it to lure the leopard. The leopard walked into the cage last night. DFO Vinay Kumar, ACF Somappa and RFO Shanthakumara Swamy visited the spot. The leopard was later released into Nagarahole National Park.
