Mysore/Mysuru: A leopard, which was trapped in a cage at an agricultural field in Rangasamudra village of T. Narasipur taluk, has been shifted to Bannerghatta Biological Park in Bengaluru.
Villagers of Rangasamudra, who had spotted the leopard in the agricultural field, had lodged a complaint to the Forest Department officials. The T. Narasipur Leopard Task Force personnel, led by Range Forest Officer (RFO) and Deputy Range Forest Officer (DRFO), conducted combing operations and found pug marks in the agricultural field. After confirming the movement of the leopard, the Forest staff had placed a cage in the agricultural field belonging to one Nagendra in Rangasamudra village on Apr. 12 and the leopard, aged about three-and-a-half years, which walked into the cage in the early morning yesterday, was trapped.
Following instructions from the higher officials, the Forest staff have shifted the leopard to Bannerghatta Biological Park, said Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) Basavaraju.
