Ticket denied, but ex-MLA Vasu to remain Congman

April 19, 2023

Mysore/Mysuru: Former Congress MLA Vasu of Chamaraja Constituency, who was not given ticket for the coming elections on May 10, has said: “I belong to the Congress party forever and have decided not to contest the election either from any other party or as an independent candidate. I have decided not to leave Congress forever.”

Vasu, who has released a press note in this regard, has clarified: “It’s known to all that I was the Congress ticket aspirant for the 2023 General elections to the Assembly from Chamaraja Constituency. For over four decades, I have worked with commitment in the party. Still I could not get the ticket and I have disclosed the reasons behind directly in a press conference. I still vouch by the statements made before the media. During the press conference held on Apr. 16, I had announced to disclose my next step and stand in the present election in another two days. Accordingly, I have made my decision known.”
