Leopard trapped in T. Narasipur

October 27, 2019

Mysuru:  A three-and-a-half-year-old male leopard was trapped at Kupya village in T. Narasipur taluk of the district this morning.

Following complaints from villagers that a leopard was roaming about in the area killing sheep and dogs since the past few days, the Forest Department had placed the trap three days ago at a farmland close to Kadu Malleshwara Temple on the outskirts of the village. The feline fell into the trap this morning. Following information from the villagers, DRFO’s S.M. Manjunath and Umesh, Guards Nagaraj  and Chandrappa rushed to the spot. The trapped feline was later let into Moolehole Range of Bandipur Forest, it is learnt. It may be mentioned that a four-year-old male leopard was trapped near the same spot a fortnight ago.
