Leopard trapped near Srirangapatna

Mysuru: A leopard was trapped in Kodiyala village of Srirangapatna taluk in Mandya district   this morning.

The feline, a 4-year-old male, was repeatedly spotted in the outskirts of Kodiyala village, following which the Forest officials placed a cage at a farmland in the village neighbourhood.

The leopard is said to have walked into the trap early this morning when it came to feed on a dog, which was kept as a bait inside the cage.

Forest Department officials visited the spot.
