Leopard trapped

Mysore/Mysuru: An elusive leopard which had caused scare among local residents in Belavadi Industrial Area, off Hunsur road in the city outskirts, has at last been trapped on Friday.

The male feline, said to be aged about 7 years, fell into the cage trap set by the Forest Department with a dog as bait, near Dechem Resins Factory in Belavadi Industrial Area yesterday. Upon learning of the matter from the Factory staff, the Forest Department personnel rushed to the spot. The trapped leopard was later let off in Moolehole Forest area coming under Bandipur Tiger Reserve, it is learnt.
