Mysore/Mysuru: Krishnaraja MLA T.S. Srivatsa has renewed his demand to inaugurate forthcoming Dasara festival at the hands of Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji.

Raising his demand again during the Dasara High Power Committee meeting held in Bengaluru yesterday, Srivatsa said, he had exhorted to select Suttur Mutt Seer to inaugurate Dasara festival last year too. The demand should be considered at least this year, he added.

Steps should be taken to open stalls at CADA Grounds, for expo-cum-sale of Government owned products like that of Silk Factory, Mysore Sandalwood Oil Factory, Geographical Indicator (GI) tagged products like Nanjangud Rasabale, Mysore Veelyedele (betel leaves).

Simultaneous yoga demonstrations should be held under the banner of Yoga Dasara across the city to enter Guinness Book of World Records. No fee should be collected for parking of vehicles and leaving footwear at Chamundi Hill. These two facilities should be provided free, as devotees make offerings at the temple hundis, he said.
