Mysuru: The Special Police team investigating the murderous assault on N.R.Congress MLA Tanveer Sait, on Saturday arrested one more person.

The arrested has been identified as Mateen Baig, 45, a resident of Ghousianagar. With Mateen Baig’s arrest, the total number of arrests has risen to eight. Tanveer Sait was brutally assaulted with lethal weapons by Farhan, a youth from Ghousianagar, at a wedding reception ceremony at Bannimantap on the night of Nov.17, following which Sait was rushed to Colombia Asia Hospital, where he underwent treatment for eight days. The City Police Commissioner had formed a special team to unearth the conspiracy behind the attack.
