Lightning kills, goats, sheep, cows in Gundlupet

Gundlupet: Lightning which struck livestock, has killed six cows, two sheep and two goats at Kundakere village in the taluk yesterday afternoon.

Yesterday afternoon, rains accompanied by thunder and lightning began to lash in the village during which two goats, two sheep and five cows belonging to one Rajappa and one cow belonging to one Basavanna of the village died when lightning struck them leaving the owners of the livestock in distress as this was the only way for them to earn their livelihood.

Terekanambi Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Rajappa, Veterinarian Dr. Guruswamy and Village Accountant (VA) visited the spot and conducted an inspection.

The owners of the livestock, which died due to lightning, have urged the Taluk Administration to provide suitable compensation and come to their help.
