Lions hosts ‘Sankalpa’ installation

Mysuru: Lions International District 317G recently hosted “Sankalpa 2026-27”, the grand presentation and installation ceremony of the new District Cabinet, at KSOU Convocation Hall, Hunsur Road, here.  

The event was held under the leadership of District Governor Ln. S. Mathidevakumar MJF and First Lady Ln. K.P. Sumangala.

The new cabinet, christened “Team Smart”, was formally installed by chief guest & Installing Officer Ln. K.G. Ramakrishna Murthy PMJF, Past International Director, Lions International, for the Lionistic Year 2026-27.  

Guest of honour Ln. Ashwatha Narayana Swamy PMJF, Multiple Council Chairperson, Multiple District 317, addressed the gathering. District Governor Ln. Mathidevakumar presided.  

Over 1,000 Lions and dignitaries from across South Karnataka attended the event. The Host Committee, led by Chairperson Ln. Venkatesh Prasad MJF, Secretary Ln. Hemanth MJF, Treasurer Ln. M.V. Nandeesh PMJF along with Advisors Ln. K.L. Rajasekhara MJF and Ln. M.N. Jai Prakash MJF, had made elaborate arrangements for the programme.  

The newly installed leadership team includes First Vice District Governor Ln. T. Narayana Swamy MJF, Second Vice District Governor Ln. M Siddegowda PMJF, District Cabinet Secretary Ln. T.H. Venkatesh PMJF, District Cabinet Treasurer Ln. A.P. Bharathesh MJF and District Ambassador Ln. S.P. Adarsha MJF.  

As part of “Sankalpa”, District 317G launched service initiatives worth around Rs. 25 lakh, including 22 artificial limbs, blind college girls’ admission fee support, Braille paper distribution and a dialysis machine donation, free food to attenders at Speech and Hearing reinforcing the District’s commitment to healthcare, education and community welfare, stated a press release from  Ln.
