Mysore/Mysuru: Liquor worth lakhs of rupees was gutted in a fire at a liquor store on New SayyajiRao Road in Bamboo Bazar here this morning.

At about 9 am today, thick smoke was seen emanating from Mysore Tiger liquor store by a few people who informed the staff over the phone.

The staff, who rushed to the spot, noticed fire inside the store and immediately informed Bannimantap Fire Station. Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who reached the spot, managed to extinguish the fire and prevented it from spreading further. But the fire had destroyed liquor worth lakhs of rupees by then. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
