Mysore/Mysuru: K.K. Hebbar Art Foundation has produced a radio serial titled “Kala Tapaswi K.K. Hebbar”. The serial can be heard from 02:02 pm to 02:07 pm on FM Rainbow 101.3Mhz and All India Radio every day from Dec.1 till Dec.25.
Episodes are interviews with people who came in close contact with Hebbar and observed his work and life that made him one of the greatest contemporary Painters of 20th century.
Eminent artists like S.G. Vasudev, Ravi Kashi, cultural officials like Chiranjivi Singh, his admirers like Narayana Murthy, Girish Kasaravalli, Art Historian Rajani Prasanna, close family members Artist Rekha Rao and Ranna Hebbar share their perspective and the Hebbar influence on society.
Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar was born in Udupi, trained in Sir J J School of Arts, Mumbai and Akademi Julien, Paris. He was a member of the Progressive Artists Group, who influenced art significantly post-independence. His works are found in the Parliament, in Venkatappa Gallery, in Hebbar Gallery and Art Centre Manipal. He was Chairman of Karnataka Lalitha Kala Academy and of National Lalitkala Academy. He was awarded Padma Bhushan for his contribution to development of contemporary art.
