Local Doordarshan at Mysuru to be shut from Nov.1

With the State-run Prasar Bharati going to shut down its analog terrestrial broadcasting all over the country under a phased plan of rationalisation, the local 224.25 Mega Hertz VHE Channel atop Chamundi Hill in the city will be closed down with effect from Nov.1,2021.

Sources said that as per the plan, the existing analog Doordarshan broadcasting centres across the country are being shut down. As a sequence, the telecast of VHE Channel functioning from atop Chamundi Hill in the city will be stopped from 12 midnight of Oct.31. The Tumakuru Doordarshan has already issued a public notification in some newspapers on stopping of its telecast from Nov.1, the sources added.
