Lockdown violations: 939 vehicles seized in 4 days

Mysore/Mysuru: Continuing their efforts to strictly implement the COVID lockdown guidelines to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, the Mysuru City Police (both Traffic and Civil) have seized a total of 939 vehicles in the past four days (June 13 to 16) for violating the guidelines in city.

On June 13, a total of 208 vehicles including 164 two-wheelers, 36 cars and eight auto-rickshaws were seized. 

On June 14, 174 two-wheelers, 31 cars and six auto-rickshaws were seized followed by 284 two-wheelers, 32 cars and eight auto-rickshaws on June 15. 

On June 16, a total of 196 vehicles including 166 two-wheelers, 28 cars and two auto-rickshaws were seized for violating the lockdown guidelines.

Call 112 for emergency response 8,561 complaints attended since Dec. 14, 2020

Meanwhile, a press release from the PRO, City Police Commissioner’s Office, has stated that a total of 8,561 complaints received since Dec. 14, 2020 by the public, through Namma-112 Helpline number, have been attended by the Police by reaching the spot within 10 minutes of receiving of the complaints.

The release further states that the number 100 would be discontinued in a few days and henceforth, the public need not dial different telephone numbers to avail any emergency services as the Government of India has launched Emergency Response Support System (ERSS), a Pan-India single number (112) based emergency response system for citizens in emergencies. 

City Police Commissioner Dr. Chandragupta has requested the citizens to avail this service during any emergency or crisis.
