Lokayukta holds public grievances meet

September 18, 2024

Mysuru: Karnataka Lokayukta, headed by Mysuru SP T.J. Udesh, conducted a public grievances meet at Mysuru Taluk Office here this morning.

The Lokayukta Office in Mysuru had received more than 20 complaints, majority of which were related to Revenue Department, Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA), Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) and Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC).

In the complaints, the public had raised the issue of the officials not providing an endorsement for complaints filed at respective Departments and also failing to inform them about the status of their complaints.

Reacting to this, Lokayukta SP Udesh, warning the officials of initiating legal action on failing to co-operate with public, instructed them to issue endorsements for not resolving their complaints.

The officials, who spoke on the occasion, said that some of the issues could not be solved on the spot owing to technical reasons and that they would provide an endorsement for the same.

One of the complainants mentioned that he was unaware about the status of his complaints as the officials concerned had not apprised him for the past six months. To this, the Lokayukta SP instructed the officials to provide the information to complainants and for some of the complaints, the officials ensured of disposing of the applications after consulting their    senior officials.

Lokayukta Dy.SPs Krishnaiah and Maltesh, Inspectors Roopashree, Ashok Kumar, Umesh and Ravi Shankar, Tahsildar Mahesh, Srirampura Town Panchayat Chief Officer Suresh and officials of MUDA, MCC, CESC, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Limited (CNNL), Public Works Department (PWD) and other Departments were present during the  grievances meet.
