Lorry partially burnt as sugarcane waste catches fire

Mysuru: A lorry transporting sugarcane waste (bagasse) was partially burnt after the waste caught fire near a resort on Mysuru-H.D. Kote Road here on Saturday.

The lorry from Andhra Pradesh was proceeding from Mandya towards H.D. Kote and the fire mishap occurred when the lorry driver stopped to have tea. Luckily, no loss of life or injuries has been reported.

Fire and Emergency Services personnel and the Mysuru Rural Police, rushed to the spot and managed to douse the fire. A case has been registered at Mysuru Rural Police Station.
