Loss in finance business: Retired Police Inspector ends life

Mysore/Mysuru: A retired Police Inspector from Bengaluru has committed suicide by hanging self in a room of a lodge in city leaving behind a death note.

The deceased retired Inspector is Gerard Korea (67), who had taken voluntary retirement after serving as an Inspector in the Wireless Division at Bengaluru. He was a resident of RSR Colony in Bengaluru.

After taking the room on rent at a lodge on B.N. Road near Sub-Urban Bus Stand, Gerard, on Sept. 3 morning, had sent messages to his brother Saralkumar and a friend. Saralkumar, who saw the message, immediately contacted the lodge and asked the staff to check the room of Gerard. When there was no response from the room, the lodge staff informed Lashkar Police, who rushed to the lodge and got the room opened only to see Gerard hanging.

The Police have found a death note written by Gerard in the room, which stated that he was ending his life due to harassment from one Babu Mahendra of Bengaluru and due to financial loss committed by one Mini Thomas.

Based on the death note, Saralkumar has lodged a complaint and Lashkar Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
