Mysuru: H.P. Gas Distributors Mysuru Zone Convenor Mehul J. Patel has appealed the public to avail the benefits of the Union Government’s ‘Ujjwala’ free LPG connection scheme.

Addressing a press meet here  recently, Mehul Patel said that the Union Government’s ambitious ‘Ujjwala’ scheme was launched in the district last month. A total of 2,89,575 beneficiaries from 265 villages across the district have been identified so far, he said. Observing that the scheme had not fully covered the targeted beneficiaries, he said, the scheme is meant for only women members of a family and those interested in knowing more about the scheme, can visit their nearest gas agency.

Pointing out that the woman beneficiary of the scheme should be knowing the correct name and other details of her parents, he said that woman having an LPG connection in her husband’s name, can pass on the benefit of the scheme to her daughter.

Patel further said that LPG customers should compulsorily check the weight of cylinders before taking delivery.
