Mysore/Mysuru: With Model Code of Conduct in force for the Lok Sabha 2024 polls, the Excise Department officials, on Mar. 26, have seized 6.480 lts of hard liquor and 3.900 lts of beer which was being illegally transported in a car near Gunja Narasimhaswamy Temple in T. Narasipur town. The seized liquor is valued at Rs. 5,03,480.

From Mar. 16, the day when Model Code of Conduct came into force till Mar. 26, the Excise Department, which detected illegal liquor activities in Mysuru Rural District, has registered cases and seized 296.590 lts. of hard liquor, 3,39,654.060 lts. of beer, 15 two-wheelers and one four-wheeler, all valued at Rs. 8,04,33,082, according to a press release from Mysuru Rural District Excise DC.
