Lt. Col. (retd.) Kalyatanda B. Uthappa (Nanda), a resident of Vijayanagar 1st stage here, passed away at his native Kunjila village in Kakkabe, North Kodagu, this morning after a brief illness. He was 75.

He leaves behind his wife Pamda, son Somanna, daughter-in-law, grandson  and a  host of relatives and friends. Star of Mysore  Editor-in-Chief K.B.Ganapathy is his brother.

His body was brought to Mysuru and kept at his residence for the family members, relatives and friends to pay their last respects.

Later in the evening, his body would be taken to JSS Hospital since he had donated his body to the hospital, according to family sources.
