Luxury cinema’s adultery bed seats

February 8, 2017

Indonesian cinema chain CGV has been forced to shut down their Velvet Class venue in the city of Palembang because the ultra-comfortable seats made local authorities uncomfortable.

CGV Velvet Class cinemas seats featuring leather beds complete with pillows and blankets, for a ridiculously comfortable movie experience.

Deputy Mayor Fitrianti Agustinda visited the CGV Velvet Class cinema in Palembang, recently, after reportedly receiving complaints from the public. The local official was apparently scandalised upon seeing the beds, arguing that they could promote adultery and sexual misconduct. The CGV manager tried to convince the Deputy Mayor, saying that Velvet Class cinemas were not only meant for couples, but also families to watch a movie in a more comfortable setting. But the officials would not budge and shut down the theatre to  change with regular seats, and warned their business license to revoked.
