Mysore/Mysuru: MICA College, Mysuru, in the memory of their recently deceased Director L&D M.N. Ponnamma, hosted a State-level floodlight football tournament in their campus football ground.
As many as 45 teams from different places like Gonikoppa, Virajpet, Madikeri, Napoklu, Somwarpet, Ponnampet, Puttur, Mangaluru, Hassan, Bengaluru and Mysuru took part.
The final match was played between Sapient College, Mysuru and St. Philomena’s, Puttur. The match went to the penalty shootout and Sapient emerged winners of Ponnamma Memorial Football Tournament.
The winners were awarded trophy and cash prize of Rs. 15,000 and runners a trophy and cash prize of Rs. 7,000.
Mohammed Salauddin of GFGC Napoklu College was adjudged the Best Player of the tournament while Nisam of Cauvery College, Gonikoppa, was given the Best Goal-keeper of the tournament award. In the presentation ceremony, Management, staff, students and Alumni of MICA College were present.
Hockey Tournament on Aug.12 and 13
MICA College will be hosting M.N. Ponnamma Memorial State-level Floodlight Hockey Tournament MI5s on Aug. 12 and 13 at their campus.
