Mysore/Mysuru: Champaka Educational and Cultural Trust, Mysuru, has organised the ‘Maargashira’ edition of Champaka Rashtreeya Kalaa Utsava on Pushya Shuddha Ekadashi on Jan. 21 at 4.30 pm at Champaka Sabhangana in Champaka Academy premises, Ramakrishnanagar, showcasing Bharatanatyam performances by accomplished artistes from Bengaluru and Mysuru.
To celebrate the Prana Pratishtapana of Sri Rama at Rama Janmabhoomi, Ayodhya, the evening will start with ‘Gamaka Nritya Roopaka, Sundarakanda – Ashokavanadalli Kshaatra Seethe’ showcasing an episode from Torave Ramayana composed by Kumara Valmiki (Torave Narahari), by Vidushi Dr. Nagalakshmi Nagarajan, Founder of Champaka Academy, Mysuru.
Vidushi Chethana Nagaraj (Music composition and vocal), Vidushi Shruti Prasad (Gamaka Vaachana), Vidwan Kiran (Mridangam), K.P. Pranav (Flute) and Dhananjaya (Dialogues) will be part of the musical ensemble.
Vidushi K.S. Nagashree, Artistic Director of Natyasankula School of Bharatanatyam, Bengaluru, along with her disciples, will present a Bharatanatyam feature thereafter.
The evening will conclude with a performance by Vidwan Gunashankar Swamy of Karunya Kalaa Kendra, Manasagangothri, Mysuru, along with his disciples.
Lakshminarayana Babu, Vice-President of Mysuru’s prestigious Bidaram Krishnappa Rama Mandira and Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, will be the chief guest.
