Mahabhishekha to Nandi atop Hill tomorrow

The Mahabhisheka for Nandi statue atop Chamundi Hill will be performed under the aegis of the city’s Bettada Balaga Charitable Trust at 8 am on Nov. 17.

Announcing this at a press meet here, Trust Secretary Govinda said that Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, Adichunchanagiri Mysuru Shakha Mutt Seer Somanathananda Swamiji and Hosamutt Seer Chidananda Swamiji will grace the occasion. The rituals include Gandha Panchakabisheka, Panchamrutabhisheka, Phalapujamrutha, Rasa Panchamrutha, Pishta Panchabisheka etc., which are done using milk, curds, ghee, honey, payasa, bananas, tender coconut etc. After the rituals, prasada will be distributed to devotees, he added.

Trust office-bearers Prakash, Sundar, Shankar and Mahadev were present at the press meet.
