MAHAJANITES-2K17: Belagavi students bag Overall Championship

Mysuru: The PG Wing of SBRR Mahajana First Grade College, Pooja Bhagavat Memorial Mahajana Education Centre, Department of Studies in Computer Science, had organised a two-day State-level IT Fest —  MAHAJANITES-2K17 — in the PG Centre premises on KRS Road in Metagalli recently.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. P. Nagabhushan, Professor & Director, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad, UP, India.

The students of Computer Science rendered the naadageethe. Dr. C.K. Renukarya, Director, Mahajana P.G. Wing welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest on the occasion.

C.R. Rachana, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Studies in Computer Science, briefed about MAHAJANITES-2K17.

In all, 40 teams from across Karnataka had participated in the Fest that included Gamer Tag- Gaming, Code vita- Coding, Wrap A App- App Development, Spider Villa – Web Designing, Logic Minds- IT Quiz, Fest-in Beats – Dance Contest, News Tonic- News Hunt,Clues Clue’s Everywhere – Treasure hunt, and Click and Pick – Photography.

Dr. P. Nagabhushan and Lakshmi Bhushan were felicitated during the occasion.

Dr. Vijayalakshmi Muralidhar, Hon. Secretary, Mahajana Education Society (MES),  gave away the presidential remarks. H.B. Basanth Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Studies in Computer Science, proposed a vote of thanks.  R. Vasudevamurthy, President, MES, was present.

The inauguration was followed by various competitions spread across two days. The faculty coordinators for the IT Fest were J. Yashaswini and M. Chethan, Assistant Professors in the Department.

The overall Championship was won by the students of RLS College of BCA, Belagavi.
