Mahakumbhabhisheka and Halaravi Utsava from Oct. 27

Mysuru, Oct. 25 – Sri Male Mahadeshwaraswamy Jatra Mahotsava, Mahakumbhabhisheka and Halaravi Utsava of Sri Male Mahadeshwaraswamy Temple located in Garadikeri in the heart of the city will be held from Oct. 27 to Nov. 11

Announcing this at a press meet at Pathrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday, Temple Trust General Secretary Suresh Babu said that the event will begin with the installation of Kalasa in the temple at 6 am on Oct. 27, followed by other rituals starting at 7.30 am. The Deepotsava will take place in the temple premises at 6.30 pm. There will be Bhajans and cultural programmes everyday from Oct. 27 to 30 at 7 pm.

On Oct. 31, a free health check-up camp has been organised in association with various hospitals at 10 am. Mass feeding (Maha Annasantarpane) will be held at 12 noon the same day, in the gracious presence of Hosmutt Seer Sri Chidananda Swamiji, Adichunchanagiri Mysuru Branch Mutt Seer Sri Somanatha Swamiji, Kaginele Mutt Seer Sri Shivanandapuri Swamiji and Salur Mutt Seer Sri Shantamallikarjuna Swamiji.

The Male Mahadeshwaraswamy Maha Utsava will take place at 10 am on Nov. 3, which features a grand procession to be taken out on Rajabeedi and other prominent roads of the locality. Hulivahana and Suvarna Kolaga procession will be taken out in the locality at 10 am on Nov. 10 and at 7 pm on Nov. 17, Suresh Babu explained. A poster of the event was released on the occasion.

Trust President Guddappa Ravikumar, Rachaiah, Rajendra Kumar, G. Prakash and M.S. Mahadevu were present during the press meet.
