Maharaja’s College students too demand laptops

Mysuru: With the State Government having begun distributing laptops to SC/ST students of second year degree courses in First Grade Colleges, SC/ST students of Maharaja’s College staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office here yesterday seeking extension of the facility for them also.

The students hailed the Government’s move to provide laptops to students which would help them in studies.

They pointed out that 80% of the students in Maharaja’s College belonged to SC/ST community and hence urged the Government to provide laptops to them also.

Hundreds of students participated in the protest.
