July 21, 2017

Mysuru,: Maharani’s Science College had organised an awareness programme on ills of drug abuse and ragging at the College premises on JLB road here recently.

Inaugurating the programme by watering a sapling, Geology Professor of Mysore University A. Balasubramanyan regretted that social concern and service was diminishing in society and advised educated youth to understand that and progress. He asked the students to cultivate good habits to uphold human values and thus become role models in country. He opined that the craze for cell phones, internet and social networking was producing negative effects. He said that a committee to arrest the menace of ragging has been constituted in colleges which work in tandem with the Police Department. He advised students to value time and knowledge to face the competitive future. College Principal Dr. A. Nagaraj, faculty and students were present.
