Mysore/Mysuru: As part of Mahashivarathri on Mar. 1, special pujas and various programmes have been organised across the city and district.
At Sri Ramadhama, Udayagiri
Mahashivarathri Mahotsava will be celebrated at Sri Ramadhama on Mar. 1 by performing Rudrabhisheka, Sahasrarchane, Abhisheka and other sevas starting from 6 am onwards. Also, Mass Mrutyunjaya Homa will be performed from 8.30 am to 11.30 am on that day.
At Sri Rama Mandira, Jayanagar
Special pujas and jagarane has been organised at the Mandira premises in Jayanagar. Various programmes including special pujas, Shivanama Smarane, Bilvapathre Arpane and Bhajans will be performed in the presence of Sri Arjuna Avadhoota Swamiji from 6 pm on Mar. 1 to 5.30 am on Mar. 2.
Brahmakumaris
As part of the 86th Trimurti Shiva Jayanti Mahotsava, Prajapita Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jnana Sarovar Retreat Centre, has organised ‘Dhwajarohana’ and ‘Dwadasha Jyotirlinga Punya Darshana’ at Jnana Sarovar Retreat Centre in Lingadevarakoppal on Hunsur Road at 9.30 am on Mar. 1.

Programmes at Suttur Srikshetra
As part of Mahashivarathri, special programmes have been organised at Suttur Srikshetra in Nanjangud taluk in the gracious presence of Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji.
Special pujas at Adijagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogigala Katru Gaddige, Sri Maheshwara, Sri Someshwara, Sri Veerabhadreshwara, Sri Nanjundeshwara and Sri Narayanaswamy Temples.
At Katru Gaddige, special pujas will be performed four times from 6 pm on Mar. 1 to 6 am on Mar. 2. On Mar. 1, Shivadeekshe at 7 pm and silver chariot Prakarotsava at 9.30 pm.
At Gadduge premises, songs and dance recitals by students of JSS Residential School at 5.30 pm, Vachanas and devotional songs rendition by K. Guruprasad and troupe at 8 pm, Shiva Katha Sankeerthana by ‘Keerthana Chatura’ Vid. S.R. Lakshminarasimhan at 10.30 pm, Neelagarara Mela by Sri Siddappaji Neelagarara Sangha, Ramasamudra, at 1 am (Mar. 2) and Bhajans by Sri Basaveshwara Bhajan troupe, Horalavadi, at 5 am (Mar. 2).
