Mysore/Mysuru: People of Mysuru city can get a glimpse of Lord Mahakaleshwar of Ujjain at the Onkarmal Somani College of Education located on Sahukar Chennaiah Road, Saraswathipuram in city.
Prajapitha Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya on the occasion of Mahashivarathri has built a replica of the Mahakaleshwar Temple (dedicated to Shiva and one of the 12 Jyotirlingas) and has also installed the look alike idol of the deity which will be open for darshan till Mar. 10 from today.
Former Minister C.H. Vijayashankar inaugurated the temple’s replica and various religious and spiritual events during a function held at Somani College premises, yesterday.
Vijayashankar said that like Ayodhya has a close connection with Mysuru, Ujjain is also connected to the city since the Golden Throne belongs to Mysore Palace once adorned by Bhojaraja, who ruled Ujjain.
The temple will be open to public from 6 am to 9 pm every day.
