Mahashivaratri celebrations on Feb. 24

As part of Mahashivaratri on Feb. 24, special programmes have been organised at Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthana Mutt, Suttur Srikshetra, in the presence of Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji.

In the morning, special pujas will be performed at Kartrugadduge of Adijagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi, Sri Mahadeshwara, Sri Someshwara, Sri Veerabhadreshwara and Sri Narayanaswamy Temples.

Again, from 6 pm on Feb. 24 to 6 am the next day (Feb. 25) various pujas will be performed; At 7 pm: Shivadeekshe; 9.30 pm: silver chariot Prakarotsava.

5 pm to 9 pm: Cultural programmes by students of Suttur JSS Educational Institutions; 10 pm: Shivakathe by Shivakatha Vidwan B.C. Basavaraja Shastry; 12.30 am: Devotional songs by Swara Sangama troupe (Mysuru); 2 am: Neelagaarara Mela by Sri Siddappaji Neelagarara Sangha of Ramasamudra; 4.30 pm: Bhajans by Sri Basaveshwara Bhajana troupe (Horalavadi).

On Feb. 26, special Amavasya Puja will be held, according to a press release.

Chandramouleshwara Temple, VV Mohalla

Various abhishekas, archane and pujas have been organised at the Temple in V.V. Mohalla on the occasion of Mahashivaratri on Feb. 24 from 6 am to 1.30 pm and again from 4 pm to 7 am the next day. Also, Prakarotsava will be held at 7.30 pm on Feb. 25.

Free lecture and workshop

As part of Mahashivaratri, Sri Paramahamsa Yoga Mahavidyalaya, T.K. Layout, has organised a free lecture and workshop on ‘Shiva Dhyana, Mantropadesha and Poorvajanma Chikitsegala Mahatva’ on Feb. 24 from 6 pm to 9 pm, under the guidance of Yoga Praveena Shivaprakash Guruji and Poorvajanma Chikitsaka  Malatesh Guruji.
