October 7, 2018

Mysuru: Making ‘Mahisha Dasara’, Mahisha Dasara Acharana Samithi had organised a grand procession from Town Hall to Chamundi Hill this morning.

Leading the procession was an open vehicle carrying a portrait of Mahishasura. In tow were an array of folk troupes performing in colourful attire. Hundreds of members of the Samithi on bikes followed the vehicle to Chamundi Hill where a seminar was held later.

Flagging off the procession, MLA Satish Jarkiholi opined that Mahisha who was a dalit king has been wrongly portrayed as a demon.
