Make site cancellation list public, set up helpline: MLA

MUDA 50:50 ratio site row

Mysuru: In the backdrop of the Mysuru Development Authority (MDA), formerly Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), cancelling site allotments made under the 50:50 alternative and compensatory ratio, Krishnaraja (KR) MLA T.S. Srivatsa has urged the State Government to set up a helpline to provide clear information to affected site owners.

In a letter to Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and the Urban Development Department Secretary, Srivatsa said MUDA had distributed thousands of alternative sites under the 50:50 ratio for several years in violation of rules.

He welcomed the Government’s decision to cancel the allotments and annul illegal sale deeds and khatas, describing it as a strong corrective measure. “On behalf of the people of KR  Constituency and personally, I express my gratitude for this step,” he said.

Srivatsa said, the decision would strengthen transparent governance and help prevent innocent citizens from being cheated in the future.

He urged the Government to take further measures to ensure fairness, including making the list of cancelled sites available to the public through the official Government website and gazette notifications.

To help site owners verify the authenticity of their documents, the MLA suggested that MDA establish a dedicated helpline centre.

Through the helpline, citizens could submit their documents and ascertain whether their sites are legally valid or figure in the cancelled list. Such a system, he said, would provide clarity and help protect the public from confusion and exploitation.
